AMI Service — Renovation Design

This is for clients remodeling one or more spaces who want thoughtful design decisions made before construction begins. It's ideal if you're renovating and want a clear plan for your layout, finishes, and materials, so every choice is intentional and nothing is left to guesswork once the work starts.

Renovation Design includes space planning, finish selections, cabinetry guidance, lighting, flooring, tile, plumbing fixtures, and paint colors, along with close collaboration with your contractors and trades to keep the vision consistent from plan to build.

Every renovation is different, and each client's goals for the space are unique, so it is ideal to discuss the ideal investment together before we begin. The best place to start is a consultation, where we can talk through your project and shape a plan that fits. Book a consultation with Alison and we'll take it from there.

An in-home consultation where we'll discuss your goals, evaluate the space, answer your design questions, and provide expert recommendations. Ten design hours to use however your project requires, valid for six months from the date of purchase. It's well suited for styling and accessorizing a space, paint and finish selections, collaborating with your builder on interior finishes, refreshing a single space in a boutique hospitality setting like a lobby or lounge, or selecting finishes and materials for a small office.

What keeps a project calm instead of chaotic is a well-defined client journey that we've perfected inside Alison Interiors Studio. AMI Process Accordion

It all starts with you sharing a bit about your project and your space. From there, we'll connect for a short call, usually 15 to 30 minutes, to talk through your scope, timeline, and investment expectations, and to make sure we're the right fit for each other.

Next, I'll visit your space for a paid, in-depth consultation of up to two hours, where we'll discuss your needs, goals, style, and timeline, and I'll take measurements and photos and note the architectural details. From there, I'll prepare a proposal outlining the scope of work, timeline, and design fees. Once it's approved, we'll sign the agreement and you'll submit an hourly retainer to begin, billed against as we go and applied toward your final invoice.

This is where the vision takes shape, through mood boards, layouts, materials, finishes, and lighting that reflect your style and how you'll live in the space. I'll walk you through every recommendation, and we'll refine it together, usually within two to three rounds. I share costs along the way, so nothing is ever a surprise, and nothing is ordered until you've approved it.

Once the design is approved, I'll handle the sourcing, ordering, and tracking of every piece, coordinating with vendors and trades to keep everything moving smoothly. I'll continue to manage the timeline and keep you updated along the way.

I'll schedule and manage delivery and installation, then add the finishing touches that make the space feel polished, personal, and ready to enjoy.

Once everything is in place and the project is complete, I'll provide a final invoice and collect any remaining balance, and your newly designed space is officially yours to live in.

AMI Services FAQ

It depends on the size and scope of your project. Full-Service Design suits a whole space designed and managed from start to finish, Renovation Design is for decisions made before construction, and a Room Design Refresh updates a space without a full renovation. For smaller, focused needs, a Design Block or a Design Consultation is often the perfect place to start. If you're not sure, reach out and I'll help you find the right fit.

At this time, I don't offer virtual or e-design services. Every project begins with an in-person, on-site consultation, so I can get a true feel for your space and how you live in it.

Yes. Smaller, defined needs like paint and finish selections, styling, or sourcing specific pieces are exactly what a Design Block is for. It gives you focused expertise on a single space or decision, without a full-service commitment.

Every project moves at its own pace, depending on scope, product lead times, and the size of the space. We'll map out a realistic timeline together early on, and I'll keep you updated at every stage, so you always know what's happening and what comes next.

It depends on which service fits your project. Full-service interior design typically runs between $50,000 and $100,000, depending on the size of the space, the scope of the work, and the furnishings involved. For renovation design, a room refresh, or a design consultation, the investment varies from project to project, so we'll settle on the right range together during our first conversation. And if you're after focused help on a single space or decision, a Design Block is a flexible 10-hour package for a flat $1,500, valid for six months, a lower-commitment way to get expert guidance exactly where you need it.
